You Shine–Really, You Do!
We are literally made up of whirling sub-atomic particles–pure energy. It’s been said that the halo traditionally depicted around the heads of saints is energy strengthened to a visible degree by the unceasing goodness of these souls. That gives a whole new perspective on the verse from the Gospel of Matthew, “let your light shine before others.” We are all spiritual beings having a human experience. Our light shines when we take actions that are loving, life-giving, and respectful–actions that come from spiritual values and understanding. The more that we heal our consciousness and choose to express from spiritual values, the more we glow. Our spiritual awareness connects us to uplifted living, to divine possibilities, and to fulfilment of our talents, interests, and purpose. It also opens doors for everyone around us. The rest of that verse from Matthew is, “so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” Shining our light reaches other people, reminding them that there is loving and constructive power that is also the essence of them. Anytime anyone of us expresses life and light, it is a boost to others. Just as a grove of aspens though appearing as separate trees on the surface, are actually one living organism intimately interwoven underground, we too are expressions of the one Light. And that brings us to the beginning of that verse, “You are the light of the world.” So shine!
