Wide Walls

“Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Wide Walls

I pray for wide, wide walls
To build my house of life;
The north shall be of love
Withstanding hate and fear;
The south, of tolerance,
Broad-mindedness so dear;
The east, a wall of faith
That stronger grows each day;
The west, of bounding joy,
Though day fades still away;
The threshold ‘neath my feet
Shall be security;
The roof, the sky itself,
Of wide infinity!
0 Lord, I want wide walls
To build my house of life.
