Angels come in all kinds of ways. They’re God’s Divine Ideas and they’re with us all the time. Do they have feathery wings? Maybe. Are they material? Sometimes. Are they helpful? Always. Angels can be the uplifting thoughts that pop in to lighten a gloomy mood. They can be the relief when we find our keys—whether we remember where we left them or not! Angels can be the last minute phone call that diverts us from an unwise decision. They can be the spectacular rescue from a near accident. They can be the comforting love in the face of loss. Angels are one of God’s ways of letting us know we are loved very personally. They show up in the way that we can accept them and at just the time that we need them. When Jesus was confronting himself in the desert before beginning his ministry, angels were with him. “He was in the wilderness for forty days, tempted by Satan; and he was with the wild beasts; and the angels waited on him,” Mark 1:13. Who’s your angel? Pay attention—you may be surprised!
