“Prayer is the contemplation of the facts of life from the highest point of view. It is the soliloquy of a beholding and jubilant soul. It is the spirit of God pronouncing his works good.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you are receiving it, and it will be yours.”
Jesus in Mark 11:24
OK, I admit it – on my way to church this past Sunday morning I was feeling irritated at the very slow (in my opinion 😊) driver in front of me. Then I had to laugh! The huge bold letters of the advertisement on the back of the bath/kitchen remodel contractor’s van read “RE-VISION.” Yes. RE-VISION. See again, see differently. Instead of seeing an irritating “slow driver,” see a careful driver who cares about neighborhood safety. Yes. RE-VISION. See again, see differently—even something as big as this year 2020. Instead of seeing a calamity, see the entranceway, albeit a painful one, into a higher way of being for humanity.
If we see only the surface of events, we are tossed by the waves of emotion, pulled this way and that by upset or exhilaration, unable to chart a fulfilling course. We lose touch with our creative imagination and cannot marshal fruitful solutions. We tear at ourselves and our fellows. Re-visioning requires us to look below the surface. There we discover emerging wholeness eager to present itself. We find our sense of self and our spiritual capacity to live fully, with purpose. We find our ability to love and be loved, to give love in return for error, and our power to be at peace no matter what. From that consciousness we bring harmony, abundance, and unity into our lives and into the world.
Prayer and meditation are key. Daily practice makes us proficient re-visioners, moving us from pettiness into God’s grand vision of humanity’s Divine identity. Ready yourself for the days ahead as outer events become even more intense. RE-VISION. See again, see differently. See this year 2020 as the entrance to humanity’s awakening. We are waking up to our responsibility to live from our deep wholeness, and so create a world of love and true abundance. From this vision of our divine nature, we humans are indeed one with the upward, progressive movement of life. We know it, we speak it, we live it. RE-VISION 2020. See again, see differently.
In the Love and Light of the Christ,
