“You are standing firm in one spirit, striving side by side with one mind.” Philippians 1:27
Every Sunday we do our Blessing of All Faiths: Our God is Love, Our Race is Human and Our Religion is Oneness. It is not simply an affirmation but a practice of a way of life. Do we do it perfectly? No. Not individually or collectively. In fact quite often we humans fail quite miserably at it. I know I do at times. It isn’t easy to feel “One” with those who seem to do so much harm to others. Quite honestly, I don’t always feel connected with those I love when they’ve really triggered all the emotions. And I don’t want to feel it. That’s when I know that I’m staying stuck in personality, stuck in the Ego. Our Oneness isn’t dependent on how someone else does or doesn’t behave. It is becoming aware of the One Presence and One Power within ourselves first and realizing it is the same Presence and Power in everyone. Looking past personality and behavior and seeing the One Spirit that abides in us all isn’t easy. It also isn’t about excusing or not holding accountable inappropriate behaviors.
Recognizing the One Spirit in All is practicing the Presence of God within each one of us. Shifting our perspective can shift our own individual worlds and create energy to make a shift in our wider global world. Imagine what the world would be like if everyone consciously knew we were all connected by the One Source, this One Love from which we are all created from. Imagine what the world would look like if we all practiced this Truth.
What a beautiful world it is when we connect with the One Spirit in All!
