God’s Response

What has surfaced from within you this week as the weather has challenged us?  I’ve found myself feeling vulnerable and emotional, concerned about the well-being of people I know and people I don’t.   I’ve been talking to myself and to God–having some knock down drag out arguments–seeking to find the meeting spot of faith and anxiety.  It’s never helpful to ignore either one.  As I bring God’s loving Presence to my puzzlement, the same old answer surfaces.  It’s an answer that is well-worn and it is the one that always brings me forward.  That answer is this–God’s Response.  That means that God is responsive–we are not alone.  Each person experiences God’s Response in a unique way.  Even when we don’t remember God or Good, God remembers us.  Even when we feel abandoned, God is there.  Even when we feel helpless, God is providing.  Even when we feel without the energy to go forward, God is life.  This is true for us, and it is true for every person.  What does God ask of us in return?  Simply that we breathe.  Simply that we experience the stillness, feel the fullness of the moment, that we let go and let God be God.  “Be still, and know that I am God!”  Psalm 46.10

In the Love and Light of the Christ,
