Earth Day

This Saturday, April 22nd, is Earth Day. There will be many events with a focus on education, awareness, and actions that can be taken to help care for this planet we call home.

I believe that part of our responsibility as human beings is to be wise stewards of the earth. There are many ways that we can do this, and as we learn more our understanding expands and our commitment to action strengthens.

I also believe that it is part of our work as Spiritual beings. Not only to respect, honor, and care for this Earth, we must also listen and learn from her. Everyday there is an opportunity to learn, to hear, to see, to taste, to experience the wisdom she imparts on living relationally with all of creation. On living relationally with God within.

I listen more these days. I see and hear and taste more these days as I am always learning how to be a better steward. Spending time in nature, whether it is my garden, a nature trail, or listening to the ocean sitting on a white sandy beach, I find my grounding when the world around me may seem chaotic. I have learned patience and I have learned to trust as I experience the many cycles of life she has shown me.

7 But now ask the beasts, and let them teach you; And the birds of the heavens, and let them tell you. 8Or speak to the earth, and let it teach you; And let the fish of the sea declare to you. 9Who among all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this, 10 In whose hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind?  Job 12:7-10

Love, Light & Sparkles,

Rev. Carol
