Are you curious about what it entails being a member of the Board of Trustees? Are you feeling the nudge to serve? Has a member of the nominating team approached you to consider? This page is just for you!

Please take the time to review all of the information and go through the short training that will inform you about all of the details expected of you as a Trusttee.

Prayer

Spend time in prayer. Take time to write any questions you have for Spirit in guiding you through this process. Spend time in the silence, listening for direction.

Step two

Gain Knowledge

​

Take the time to take the self-paced information class by Rev. Charlene Manuel.  She specializes in board training and this will give you an idea of what to expect serving on the Board of Trustees.  It doesn't take long, can easily be done in one sitting.

Step three

Review

​

Review our current bylaws. This document is the governing document of Unity Church of Austin. Every board member should be knowledgeable of the bylaws.

Step four

Return to Prayer

​

After completing all of the steps above, return to prayer. Wait in the silence or in the days to come to discern if this is a God Nudge meant for you.

Submit Your Application​

If you have received, and said "Yes" to the calling to apply, please click the button below to fill out the application or you may pick one up in the bookstore on Sunday and subit there in the application drop box.

Step six

What to expect next...​

​

After review of the application, a member of the Nominating Committee will contact you to schedule an interview. After all interviews are complete, the Nominating Committee will meet to determine which candidates will advance. The Nominating Committee will notify all candidates.  The final candidate will send a photo and a bio to the Administrator, those will be placed in the newsletter and bulletin before the election.  At the annual meeting, the members will vote to fill the empty positions.  Ballots will be counted and the new board members will be announced before close of the Annual Meeting. The Annual Meeting is held in March each year.
