All is Well With My Soul

“Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Matthew 11:29

“Faith and prayer are the vitamins of the soul; man cannot live in health without them.”

Mahalia Jackson, American Gospel Singer

What a rough ride it’s been this last year and a half. When life feels like too much, what do you do? Give in to the feeling that God has packed up and left, or take Mahalia Jackson’s advice? Today, on Unity’s World Day of Prayer we can take her recommended vitamins of faith and prayer along with thousands of people around the Earth. Buoyed by our spiritual connection, we have the courage to see deeper than outer circumstances. We realize that we are not alone. We are strengthened as we feel the faith energy of other people. We find the Divine in our midst. We see that surface turbulence cannot touch the life of God within us. We are no longer part of the tumult. We are now part of the peace. We are natural springs of creativity and love. The energy we exude brings calm and space for constructive movement.

This is what Jesus meant when he invited us to learn from him, to take up the way of gentleness and humility. He didn’t mean we were to be doormats, but rather to learn that fighting fire with fire just burns things down. Jesus knew that real power to change conditions only comes through the transformation of consciousness. When we stop making gods of people, giving them the power to dominate our lives, and instead let the God of love be God, life gets much better.

Take the opportunity today to uplift your awareness. Participate in Christ Consciousness with thousands of people knowing, “No matter the circumstances, all is well with my soul.” Take time apart in personal prayer. Take time to enjoy the online inspirations both on our Unity Church Austin Facebook page and those streamed by Unity Village. The information on how to connect is in the World Day of Prayer ad here in Shine the Light. Most of all, know the Truth that God is right here in our midst. Life is much more than material conditions. Through the spiritual power within us we are transformed. Through that we birth what is next – a world of love and peace. No matter the circumstances, all is well with my soul.

In the Love and Light of the Risen Christ,

Rev. Anna
